b'Scientific Session Abstracts SATURDAY APRIL 20, 2024 Conclusion: Current smokers had similar risk of death, stroke, MI, and SCI when compared to patients who quit at least 1 month prior to TEVAR, regardless of their indication. However, there was a significant increased risk of 1-year mortality in current smokers in all patients, with persistent increase in mortality at 3 years amongst patients with TAA. These results suggest that in the elective situation, smoking cessation counseling should be undertaken to improve longterm outcomes.Table I: Multivariate analysis of smoking status in TEVAR patients (never smoked = reference)Quit 1 mo. vs NeverCurrent Smoker vs NeverCurrent Smoker vs Quit Smoked Smoked 1 mo.OR [CI] p-value OR [CI] p-value OR [CI] p-valuePerioperative0.66 [0.42-1.04] 0.069 1.09 [0.68-1.77] 0.7 1.40 [0.86-2.25] 0.2DeathStroke 0.94 [0.57-1.55] 0.8 1.19 [0.70-2.03] 0.5 1.19 [0.71-1.99] 0.5MI 1.24 [0.58-2.78] 0.6 1.88 [0.86-4.27] 0.12 1.54 [0.74-3.17] 0.2Pulmonary0.86 [0.61-1.22] 0.4 1.06 [0.75-1.51] 0.7 1.13 [0.79- 0.5ComplicationsPneumonia 0.76 [0.46-1.25] 0.3 1.14 [0.72-1.81] 0.6 1.62]1.320.3[0.79-2.21]Cardiac1.11 [0.59-2.16] 0.8 1.77 [0.90-3.55] 0.10 1.63 [0.88-2.99] 0.12ComplicationCHF 1.02 [0.35-3.39] 0.9 2.69 [0.86-9.45] 0.10 2.64 [0.98-7.17] 0.054Spinal Cord1.14 [0.68-1.98] 0.6 1.93 [1.14-3.36] 0.017 1.52 [0.95-2.45] 0.083IschemiaLeg Ischemia 0.55 [0.25-1.20] 0.14 1.81 [0.93-3.66] 0.087 3.75 [1.79-8.25] .001AKI 1.10 [0.80-1.52] 0.6 1.21 [0.87-1.70] 0.3 1.11 [0.80-1.55] 0.5Dialysis 1.02 [0.43-2.42] 0.9 1.61 [0.74-3.58] 0.2 1.59 [0.72-3.59] 0.3Bowel0.52 [0.20-1.39] 0.2 0.61 [0.23-1.57] 0.3 0.81 [0.29-2.20] 0.7IschemiaLength of0.97 [0.78-1.22] 0.8 0.98 [0.77-1.25] 0.9 0.95 [0.75-1.20] 0.7stay 21 year death 0.95 [0.72-1.27] 0.7 1.35 [0.99-1.86] 0.059 1.34 [1.01-1.79] 0.0423 year death 0.99 [0.77-1.28] 0.9 1.32 [1.00-1.75] .001 1.27 [0.98-1.63] 0.067*Adjusting for the following confounders: age, sex, race, BMI, diabetes, prior myocardial infarction, prior CHF, prior COPD, renal dysfunction, anemia, aspirin, statin, ACE/ARB42 NDANNUAL MEETING|APRIL 1921, 2024|OCEANSIDE, CA 69'
